Good morning~
It's still nippy and dark here on the West Coast. Rain threatened for the last few days, but we eeeked by without a sprinkle - meaning, yes, strawberries! Prices up 0.10 a basket this year, but I'm thrilled to pay it for those yummy fruit. Deep red all the way through, and mmmmm, so sweet. Still just the beginning of the season, so they should be even better once we get a few really sunny days!
Going to see if I can take off of work on time today - corn just sproutin' up all over the place! Itchy trigger finger needing to bring out the camera and snap some pictures of that wonderful white sweet corn! I've over 200 pictures of corn, so far. Seems like I should do something useful with them some day besides having it take up hard drive space ;-)
Tax day! Don't know if it's good or bad, but at least it's here and will be gone soon!
Pasture rotation has all the beef cattle moved off to another field, so no more watching them grow up for a while. This group 'll be 'bout ready to send to market the next time I see them, if they even make it back this way before then. Well, it was fun to watch them kicking up their heels in the rain and playing tag and all and growing up big and healthy and happy. We grilled hamburgers last night, and I hoped that the cattle that donated themselves for that meal had as good a life.
Well, I know it's been a stressful week for some of you. If nothing else, let those hard times pull your families and friends closer to you.
Take care. Have a glorious day.
