I Want Red Passiflora!!!
I will be starting some cuttings of mine soon but they probably won't be ready till next spring.
How can I make cuttings of passiflora? I have some that I am afraid will not be back next year plus I could make some for others. Roz
write Tim and get his directions
Okay, Tim, where can I find you?
ArtyMiss you can see the red passiflora I have on my journal page. http://davesgarden.com/editgj/viewentry.php?rid=17316 I will be starting cuttings in the next few weeks.
cajunace, that is a gorgeous red flower.
cajunace, are you looking for any other PFs for trade?
To take cuttings just break off a new shoot that comes directly off the stem. Strip the bottom couple of leaves. I dip mine in rooting hormone gel and pot up in moist potting soil inside a small styrofoam cup. I place the small cup inside of a plastic baggie and seal. They root within 10 days or so.
I've even rooted mature leaves from p. alata and they are now well rooted. I've tried leaves from other passifloras but with little succuess. I did manage to get one mature leaf of p. vitifolia x incarnata to root using this method.
