They sure are pretty. The butterflies here don't hold still long enough to get their pics. taken.
That's a tiger swallowtail. They make it this far north - but I don't see a lot of them like the monarchs.
That's an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail..........one of my favorites!!

It's always one of the first to appear in my yard. Huge and eyecatching, and so graceful.
So pretty. I saw one in my yard yesterday - can't remember seeing one for a few years. I bought a bunch of hosta tcs and had spread blood meal around them to keep the bunnies at bay. Butterfly landed on the blood meal and he just stayed and stayed - I even got close with the camera and he was drunk on the blood meal and didn't even move. Boy, that stuff stinks, though. Brenda
