New to XP today

My SIL downloaded XP into our computer today from Win 98. There are several things that he didn't get to tell us about what would change on our computer sites and etc.

So tonite I come onto DG and have to loggin for the first time in a very long time and realized that it did not Welcome me like normal and all my preferences in the forums are not listed. So what should I be expecting? Do I have to start all over here at Dg? And when will I get my "Welcome SoCal" back?

If you know of any other changes that XP will create, please let me know. My DH and I are still newbies to this computer stuff and we get very comfortable with our standard usage. lol New things tend to confuse me alittle.
