Colocasia help??

I bought a 5 foot tall colocasia yesterday at an arboretum sale. In a 1 gallon pot. As I've never actually had one this size before can anyone tell me what size pot it should be in?

To get the biggest plant try a 5 gal pot. Lots of water and fertilizer too! It will get big. :-)

Liz,
Do you know the variety of the calocasia? Some send up pups freely and others do not. You may need a pot bigger than 5 if it sends up lots of pups. I love the calocasia and alocasia for their lush tropical look. Do you have photo? We would enjoy seeing your new find.

I don't know the name Barb but will take a picture tomorrow - it's probably really ordinary. Everybody loved me in the parking lot though as I was stuffing it in my car.- it's taller than I am.
