A true dilemma.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

I had 7 hybrid cross brug seed pots all planted with seeds..I soaked em and planted them..and for two months..nothing! I always recycle my potting soil.......This is where it gets real sad......**SOB SOB**
I used the soil in about 10 or 12 other planters...and guess what?? The seeds are NOW all germinating...So do I keep all of them labeled as unknown cross...or toss and try to start over. There is about 40 of em..but no way to know the heritage...............they are all mixed up......some of my best crosses...

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Save them.they will surprize you with the combos and you will drive yourself nuts trying to guess the cross. Also, atleast you know they are all yours!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Eclipse, sounds like my luck. i would grow them, especially if they were some of your best. you may be able to back track what they were from characteristics. might as well see what you have.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I'd save them too. I have seedlings coming up in pots too.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Oh boy - that's like Eric's labels being pulled.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

You just never know . . . that special one might just be in this batch. It all depends on how you feel about unknown crosses.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

However, what you don't know won't hurt you either. If you want to put the time in them, go for it. If not.....Glory has a great compost pile. :-)

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

yes, i could take care of them if you want to ship them to florida.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I'd keep them, although there would be no problem finding good homes for them.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Yep Kyle, if you want to get rid of them just throw them in a big baggie and send them to NH. Kidding aside I agree with everyone that you should keep them rather than take a chance that you might be throwing away a one of a kind.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

It sounds very familiar to me, LOL!

Dont throw them away. If you consider some as your best crosses, it should be very interesting, to see, whats coming up and maybe identify several by type.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

OK......ya'll convinced me..I'll gather them up and put in their own pots.Only thing with this problem is when something nice comes along..then I don't know what to use to get the best chacteristics out of its past.Oh well here We go again. :-)Thanks ya'll

OK - Western Union it is.

Have you got your hints yet Liz?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Not yet.

Kyle, that happens lol Keep them, keep them! lol I know, how we all discussed the importance of ID`ìng Brugs, but don`t let that throw them in the garbage can. As Monika say, it is possible to come pretty close to guessing the parents ID from the seedlings.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Liz, got a clue yet?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Clueless in Vancouver, tiG

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

hehehe, bet you do have a clue!! you're just teasing us:)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Well, don't let me hang here.....any clues yet? :-)

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Not a thing - Joydie???? Anything?

Must be something fishy going on. Maybe too much of that fishy stuff fertilizing the brugs.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Jeanne, you are a hoot!! :-)

now this is a real dilemma

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Whosh... over my head

Joydie,

Cala is sending my plants directly to me, I would never expect anyone to pay my shipping costs and I think you misunderstood my comment, I was just being silly, the fishy stuff is the fish fertilizer that Eric talks about all the time.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

FYI, I'm sending the plants directly to Jeanne, she was going to send yours to you. She has paid for the phyto, you haven't Joydie, you had plants sent to me that I have to purchase a phyto AND pay postage to send. I've NOT gotten anything from you, no email saying you will pay for the phyto or the postage so what am I to think? The phyto is $30 for each shipment and I'm certainly NOT going to send off something that costs that much plus postage to someone with a reputation such as yours without getting the cash in hand first!!!
AND speaking of appreciating emails, how about the one you sent to several people that said I would accept trades for you and send them to you? I don't remember discussing that beforehand.

Poor thing. Only forty huh????? What would most of do for forty any kind of brugs. I do understand what you are feeling.
