Whaaaahhhh...
I was at the Sheriff's Dept yesterday turning in a broken pistol. I made sure I didn't park in the "personnel only" spots and went inside. When I came out my truck was gone! Boogers, they towed me!...or so I thought. Looking around, Lo and Behold there it was, nearly 2000 feet away, its nose down in a four foot deep creek, its rear up in the air! I couldn't believe it! There are two theories. One person insists the grade is not slanted enuff to get my truck to roll on its own and that someone pushed it to get it going. Another says there is plenty of grade for it to roll on its own. Now get this. I ALWAYS pull the brake AND park it in gear. Why would I forget to do that this time, especially behind the Sherriff's Dept? Oh well, all in all a big wrecker came and pulled it out (it was nerve-wracking, it almost rolled over getting it out). It's face is smushed in (needs at least a new hood, front quarter panel, bumper, lites)...at this point I'm in limbo waiting to hear if there was any engine damage and under body stuff. Like I said, "Whaaaaaaahhhh.....!!!"
Also, this may have an effect on whether I make it to the RoundUp. Bummer. Was really looking forward to my first vacation in almost 9 yrs. In the back of my mind (even tho it's kinda scary back there) I'm wondering about renting a van or something just to be able to go but will see.
Ya'll be good. Be careful. And set your parking brakes.
June 12th (hope it's better than 11th)
