I just got about 20 snips from someone. I heard they don't come true from seed. Post on GW too, that is where I had some people willing to send me snips.

I have 11 cuttings left of an original 12, hoping they will be rooted soon. This one is said to be hard to root. The cuttings were taken from a 'Bluebird' I got long ago from Wayside which had overgrown its spot. Already gave away the original plant, but took some cuttings to try. If some root, I will he happy to trade. Please remind me! John

Gosh, I wish I had posted earlier this spring when I was pulling them out of the garden. I've given several away that came up from seed and so far only one has been white. They have all come back true. Even had one I missed last summer and it bloomed last fall, so they sure do grow fast from seed. Next spring I'll post. Does anyone know if the ones marked double red are really red? I saw one today that was three colors. The tag showed double red, mauve, and white.

Sykesville, MD(Zone 7b)

I sure hope those cuttings come through for you. I saw John's post and checked my Wayside catalog... SURE ENOUGH IT WAS THERE !!I didn't recognize it before because their marketing guy decided to color it bright blue !( I hate when they do that ) =P I placed the order that it suppose to come at the end of September. I hope they get it right this time. They just sent me replacement roses because the first ones were marked "peace" but clearly not.. more like "double delight" which I'll put in the back =) < fingers crossed > If you guys have success, please keep me in mind before giving any away...You MIGHT be more accurate ! THANKS !

Clarksville, TN(Zone 6b)

Lil_Pipsqueak: Your so lucky! I'm so jelous of you! I've been trying to get one of those for 3 years.... I can't seem to get the seed to germinate.

Brugie: PLEASE! KEEP ME IN MIND IN FALL! I would LOVE to trade for one of these! Perhaps rooted pieces of my "mystery" Peony bush, I'm not sure what color it is, it's never bloomed, I had to trim it back and move it just when it would've bloomed.... anything!

Sandy (hugeposiepatch): You are a kind and generous person. I know you're well loved here at DG!

Crimson, I agree with you. I am indeed a VERY lucky lady. I'm so glad I came across DG. It's my favorite website - HANDS DOWN. It's full of good and generous ( and funny )people. The kind of people that cause the smolders to flame up in the heart again. In a world where good deeds get noticed simply because they are "out-of-the-norm". Here lies an open forum where good works abound. This is the kind of interaction we all NEED.I hope I not only will have access to kind friends here, but equally be accessible AS one ! < stepping down from soapbox > =D

Watervliet, NY

FYI -I picked one up from Mellinger's and boy I was amazed-it came at least a foot tall and already has two buds and only paid $4.95!!!!!!Do recommend them if no one can find any or in a hurry!

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Is this rose of sharon blue, or is it lavender? In the picture, it looks like my very old lavender, which reseeds itself everywhere and is always the same color when it blooms. I always hate to pull them out, but there is a limit to how many you can keep. I wish it was something you all were looking for. The hummers and butters love it.

No actually very blue it can be viewed at Wayside gardens!
