Here is a picture of my candida double white. 2/3 of the blooms are the stuffed ones but there are these that have dropped out. It is hard to figure out why some drop out a little. Last year, I did not have any that dropped out.
Candida - Different Blooms
I had one that did that too. BTW, I sent your seeds out, you should have them any day.
Ok Cala you are one of the resident experts here. Do you know why this plant blooms two different type of blooms or why some don't drop down. Thanks a bunch for sending seeds. Maybe they will be here tomorrow.
BrugNanny, now that is a x candida! Hose in hose type lol I hope mine will be so too, but it seems like the second corolla stay inside the first lol Its beautiful :-)
Cala, Do you have a pict. of the species you send? I like to see, how white/ yellow it is lol I noted, that some x candidas are almost pure white with green veins, but there are others, that have a tendency to yellow in it lol I have no Charleston yet, but I hope to find another x candida for soon hybridizing and I think, that by using those with slight yellow hue, there must be other, than just white genes in them lol
Beautiful flower. I'm hoping the Species I bought from Logees will look like this.
Nice picture. I'm getting so I like the whites a lot too. Can't wait to see some of your others. Whoever babysat the brugs while you were gone did a good job.
Tonny, the species I sent could be the one with the crumpled up flower inside, or another one that I have that hasn't bloomed. The crumpled inside one is white.
I would be happy to send cuttings of this one. But I must remind you that some of the blooms have the second part stuffed up inside.
Thanks Cala! I look forward to see it in bloom lol if lucky it will grow fast for me and bloom in August or September. btw. some of mine refuse to form viable pollen. In the aurea the anthers will not split and in the x candida it was the same, but a day later, the anthers was brown and dry lol Can this be solved to make them produce again?
