Hi folks, Had another busy weekend. Had to clean out our cistern DH discovered rats in it the other night so I had to buy drinking water and we rented a submersible pump for the weekend. Saturday we started on the cistern for this house pumped it out cleaned it then poured in some bleach and hauled a couple loads of water for it. We ended up pulling 7 rats and 1 snake out of it!!! Yuck!!! There are 2 openings in the top of the cistern one can be covered with a concrete lid but the other has several pipes in it. I think DH is going to try sealing it with screen, anyone have ideas on this? Friday night was a b-day party for my nephew, the one that stays with me all the time. The pic is of his half-sister(my niece)Kinsley and my mom. Sunday we had to go to a cookout at my brothers and we also cleaned the cistern I use for the barn. Can you say GROSS! It is made of cinder-block and is roof catch, it's the first time we've cleaned this one and talk about nasty, there was at least an inch of pine needles and gunk accumulated on the bottom plus dead creatures in it. One wall is collapsing inward but there's nothing we can do about it right now. We'll try to put some kind of brace in it later. We didn't have time to make a new wooden lid for it so I had to run some electric fence around it to keep the goats out temporarily. I better get outside and get busy before it gets really hot supposed to be 90 and very humid today :~P Have a great day.
