Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Do you guys know how you make me tax my brain trying to figure out what the letters stand for? :-) Figured it out, but took me a while. My DP is doing great Arlene. CC, my PB is also doing great. Can't wait for them all to bloom. Have a half dozen or so that are starting to Y, but the funniest looking one is from tiG and the Y stands at about 8 inches or so. Can anyone tell me why this happens?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Arlene, they are still alive!Which is more than I can say for some of my brugs and some other plants.I had moved everything outside and they were doing great. Then we got hit with cold and rain ,I moved them all in the garage but some of them didn't like it.They are rotting and dying,I know herrenhauser is dead, along with the Solandra I rooted, not sure what else yet!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Brugie, i am not sure yet if it is CS or DP..... lots of deformed blooms, last one stayed white for 4 days then white kind of brownish orangy peachy. got another opening today, will see what it does.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

The reason the Y is so low is because the cutting was taken from the top and not from the lower part of the plant. If the cutting is taken from the part above the Y you will get blooms faster but the plant is shorter...I think....I had a versi peach bloom last year, the plant was so short I had to put it up on a stand because the bloom was so long it would have been touching the ground.....

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Brugie, which one is it? I only had a few that I took cuttings above the Y and I can tell you if that's why

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

tiG, it is Insignis Rosea.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

well, I got those in trade, so I'm not sure which section it came from. The one I kept of course isn't doing anything :)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

So, I have this question: If you want your plants to be trees, you have to get a cutting from the lower part, below the Y, right? What if everyone wants to keep that part of their brugs for that reason. Do we have to grow one, and then take another cutting from it to get the taller trunk? I've always sent out cuttings from above the Y. I guess I didn't know this would happen. I'm sure sorry if you all have squatty plants from my cuttings because of my ignorance.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Glory, I just love the foliage on this one. It really looks nice against the bricks. Those blooms look huge. Very pretty. Hope they change to a peachy color before they are done.

Arlene, did you say in a post someplace that you needed a P&C? If you do, mine is starting a side shoot and I'll try to root it for you. This is one very slow growing brug.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Shirley, the cuttings from above the Y bloom so much quicker and luckily I was sent lots of those type cuttings last year. Up here in my neck of the woods earlier is better.I'm sure whoever you sent cuttings too was happy with whatever you sent them.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

CC, am glad they are doing good. HG, and culebra, the slow starters, you have to let dry out good between waterings til they get some good roots going, seems that way to me anyway.
Ms. Brugie, thanks for the offer, but i have no patience for P&C. don't care if it blooms triple purple, it's just too finicky for me!
i am down to a very short list of wanted brugs, can count on one hand, til i see everyone's seedlings start blooming!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

If you ever hear me mention something and you want it, brug or otherwise, you let me know.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Thanks Ms. Brugie. i'm trying hard not to want anything!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I want to know, it's taxed what little of my brain is left, what the heck is DP?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Cala, i am sorry DP - double peach. only i still am not sure which one is which. i really didn't think i messed up the labels, but the one i have marked creamsickle is wierd, lots of deformed blooms (and lots of them). stays white several days. has very fluffy pollen, don't know if it will be any good! CS-creamsicle.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

DP-Double Peach, CS is creamsickle

(Zone 6a)

Brugie.....I want a cutting (from above the Y) of every brug you have:) LOL
