Hi,

I'm trying to establish the name of a plant I recently discovered growing in my garden.

It looks very similar to this photo. I was told that it might be a Japanese Hogweed but I can find no references to this name, is it possibly the same thing.

I'm in the UK so regional names may come into play. It's a strange looking plant to say the least-particulary the plum sized thorny seed pods in the leaf/stem joints.

I'm not an expert but just curious as to what it is and how it got into my garden !

All help would be appreciated
