What a lovely bloom. Is the the true English rose? I have always wanted one of those types of roses. Is it fragrant?

It has the most wonderful perfume! This one was bred in France in 1865. It is best in shade as sunlight scorches the petals and turns them brown. So if your looking for a gem for a shady spot.......

(more info in the database and the Rose Forum)

I was planting this rose two Years ago in the frozen earth, she survived but did not flouerig two summers, so i hope next summer i will see the wonder in my garden!

Looks like fine velvet...sounds wonderful with shade tolerance and great fragrance. Now I have to add it to my list of things I will probably never find to buy....
