Just couldn't stand it, so .

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I stopped by this nursery tonight on the way home and they had a variegated brug with 2 blooms about to open for 15.00 so I bought it. You guys were making me envious of all your blooms. It was just marked Brugmansia - Angel Trumpet. They had another one not sure of color with about 20 buds on it for 30.00. Will post a picture as soon as I figure the camera out.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I hope you didn't pay $30 for a brug.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

No, just the 15.00

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

I figure $15.00 is a good price for a blooming variegated brug (already has some size on it). can you tell what color the bloom is yet? looking forward to pic.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

There is just a little bit of white showing at the end. It is really not that big, Maybe 12" tall. Leaves are kinda ruffled.

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

What is the going price of a brug? I have three, but have been looking online to order some more. I don't want to pay more than they are worth. I have NEVER seen a brug in a greenhouse here, but that's probably because they need to come inside in the winter or you need to take cuttings and start them. I think you have to be a member of DG to know that though. LOL Plus, my greenhouse visits are very limited here, as there really aren't any to speak of, so I do online shopping. How much is a reasonable price?

This fall when we move into the new house, I will have lots of places for big plants and I'm looking and ordering.

I got my answer, you all were posting while I was writing this out. Thanks.

I can share some of mine later on if you want.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

congrats on this one!!!

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Awe, WaterlooLily, you are too sweet. Let's keep in touch and maybe we can share cuttings in the fall if all goes well for us this summer. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Joan, later in the season I'll be happy to share cuttings. I really have to down size the end of summer.Just don't have room in my house for 50-60 full grown Brugs. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Waterloo, you sound like me!!! I also made a quick stop to go brug hunting on my way home from work! I bought 3 more brugs, 2 of which are replicas of the 4 I bought sev. weeks ago. I bought them all out of brug blossom envy from seeing all these incredibly different flowers on this site. I am crazed with brug flower frustration! I must learn patience to let all my baby brugs time to grow up. As my husband and I walked by my car on the start of our walk (I had not taken them out hoping to hide them from him), he said.......Kelley when is enough going to be enough........and I said NEVER!!! I also must learn my digital camera this weekend................

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Snowhermit, you and I should keep in touch too. I will welcome and take care of any brugs available to me. If all goes as planned, we will have lots of the materials for my greenhouse by the time we get this house built. LOL! All it takes is an extra 2x4 here and and extra 2x6 there to cut down on the cost of the greenhouse considerably. We are already working on that too. And we have priced the cost of the Weatherglaze for the walls and ceiling so I know how much I need to squirrel away by next fall to finish the walls and ceiling. Sneaky aren't we? We *think* we own the propane tank too, and we aren't going to be heating our house with propane, so that may also go to the greenhouse. We are working on getting materials for building the greenhouse as well as the house. DH got a birdseye view of the whole gardening thing this winter and if we can sneak in a greenhouse he is more than happy to do that. LOL

Give me time to root some more cuttings and I'll share with y'all. Plus I'm like Snowhermit, I have so many in the ground that I won't have room for, I'll gladly share. I have a few suaveolens white, Jean Pasco, Charles Grimaldi and maybe a Frosty Pink rooted now. May also have a Tropical Sunset or two. I haven't been taking as many cuttings since I've been busy pollinating(don't know what I'll do with all the seeds though)I know why Eric sends out so many seeds, it's so fun to pollinate and watch the pods grow but one only has so much room.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Cala, can you save me a cutting of Tropical Sunset? fall is fine.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

TiG, I sure can. Didn't know you didn't have it or you would already!!! It's still in the rooting pot, ready to go out first of week if my memory doesn't fail, lol.

Joan, Waterloo and Kell,
Don't go buying more Brugs...if y'all want some more just ask here. I think most everyone here will send Brugs for postage. I'll check today and see what I can offer right now.

Cala,
Would you do me a great big favor and do me a cutting of the Tropical Sunset when you can? Please.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Glory, it's already rooted. I'll get it to you. BTW, thanks for the seeds :-). I can't believe I have something for you!!

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Cala, If you could save me a cutting of TS when you take cuttings I would appreciate it. No hurry. Thanks.

Paxton, FL(Zone 8a)

Cala, I would love to have a cutting of tropical sunset also. Can you think of anything down here I might could send you. I'm gonna try to come by your place in mid July. Before you leave on you trip, I hope.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

All the rooted ones are gone, but I'll take more. I have a rooted one for all the above ones who asked and also Arlene. I'll pack them up and get them out before the mums get here, or I'll never get it done, lol.

Hamilton, Canada

cala,
put me down dor tropical sunset, but i can wait until later in the summer...thanks hun.

Joan, Waterloo and Kell
I have some unrooted cuttings I can send for postage but the thing is I only have enough for one of y'all. If y'all will discuss this among yourselves I will send the cutting to who ever y'all decide on.
Here's the list of the cuttings:
Whiskers
Milk and Honey
Jessie Noel
Versicolor Peach
Insignis Frosty Pink
Dr Suess
Golfito

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

Gloria, send them to one of the other two. Shirley is sending me some. Thanks.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

cool you guys..

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Cala, thanks so much. I'm sending you postage in Mondays mail.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Not now, but this fall I'd like a cutting from Tropical Sunset. Does it get a lot bigger than other brugs? It is advertised to be 12 ft. the first season. Thanks Cala.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brugie, you don't want yours right now? Let me know when you are ready.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Cala, I can take it now, but didn't want to rush you and your plant. Your choice. Let me know if you are mailing and I'll get the postage to you ASAP. Thanks a bunch.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Brugie, I'd planned on mailing either in the morning or Monday. I need to do things while they're still fresh on my mind or I forget for weeks.
I bought ginko to improve my memory, but I can't remember to take it, lol.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I have the same problem. I'm worried that I'll forget to mail Joan her plants, so Joan, if you see this, email me on Monday so I don't forget. :-) I haven't tried the Ginko. Wonder if it works.

Tonight I was working on weeds in the vegie garden and the brug blooms just about knocked me over. What a smell. I hated to quit working because of the wonderful fragrance. Dr. Suess does smell good........

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Love it Cala - I bought gingko about a year ago - I think about a year ago- can't remember how long ago- can't remember where I put it. Maybe that means it doesn't work?

Belfield, ND(Zone 4a)

If I can remember to remind you Monday Shirley, I will. LOL! Next week is going to be pretty stressful, since it's election day on Tuesday and both DH and I are elected. I'll put a sticky note on my purse though. I cannot live without sticky notes.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Glory.......sounds too good to be true..........i will talk to waterloo!
thanks so much :))

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Cala, I'll mail postage in the morning if I can borrow some of Brugie's ginko:) LOL!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Joan, I live with sticky notes too. DD bought me a notebook and I try to keep it with me all the time. I keep sticky notes in my address book with what I owe the person written on it.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I used to write myself notes, but kept forgetting to read them. Gave up and just take what comes. :-)

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Thank God!! I am normal. There's more just like me. I thought I was the only one that wrote notes and lists and either left the list home or forgot to read the note.I recently wrote DB birthday on calendar so I would'nt forget it and then forgot to look at the caledar and missed it.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i keep wondering if there is a program i could use on computer that would pop up reminders. i am much better at typing than writing, hate to admit, sometimes i can't read my writing. i do wish i had used the trade tracker so i'd know for sure what i sent people. do remember where i got them all from.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Arlene,

if u have a yahoo email acct. it has a reminder area - where u type in the info u need. when the right time comes around, an email will send u notice of the reminder. i have one that i have used for years. hope that helps.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I have Hallmark Event Planner. It tells me anything I want to type in ahead of time and for birthdates, it will run from year to year. I use mine for Dr. appointments, etc. as well as the birthdates, anniversaries, and anything else of importance. Would even work for noting when seeds were planted, germinated, etc.
