This is a bloom of the tropical water lily "Caerulea" or commonly called Blue Lotus of the Nile Lily. A friend by the name of William Phillips in Memphis was kind enought to give it to me. I love it.

You should smell the fragrance also. Very highly scented.
I just ordered one of these for our pool at work..this variety has soooo much history behind it.The Egyptians worshiped it and used it as a type of sexual stimulant.You see pics of it everywhere in ancient Egypt.

Yes this lily does have a bit of history behind it. What eclipse said was definately the truth. They found the dried flowers of this lily all over the pharroh's bodys when they examimed them. It was like the viagra of 2000 years ago. LOL. Guess they had their share of problems..
