CC's first born brug is blooming now

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

It's white as she feared, but it's a beauty. The first bloom to open had 6 "whisker thingies" but the rest have only 5. It's fragrant too. Wonder what she wants to name it?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Looks like it may be white inside, where stamine & pollen is to be?? Very Pretty!

Cala and CC,
that is a beautiful flower. I like the long whiskers and the extra broad suaveolens look lol CC, re there aurea in this one?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Where is CC? She is missing the birth, lol.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

I don't have any buds as of yet but now really looking forwards to seeing them bloom

Mine has Y'd so I'm also looking forward to seeing it bloom.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Calla how do you do it,Everything you touch just blooms!Sorry I haven't posted.Been working 12 hour days, driving to Secaucus N.J. everyday(they are wacko drivers down there!)I get off the main road at the last exit before the lincoln tunnel(and yes,I'm driving thru the city with a set of doubles!I won't bid on THAT job again!) .NYC is right on the other side of the river from the MeadowLands building that I have to go to.As I hook up to my trailer,if I look across,I can see where the twin towers use to be.Its a long day, and I'm so tired that I don't even look at the computer.Last night chuck went to Daves Garden and started reading me the posts!I have to leave for work in a half an hour so I'm just power surfing! Mom is the unknown pink that some say is a Frosty pink, and the dad is an unknown white which Eric said was a suavenolens cross.Calla, you are the best!I wanna be just like you,and your big bloomer has me itching to get one just as big!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Karen, I think it's a keeper for now. I've never seen such large blooms. I wonder if it's because these are the first blooms? They are bigger than Insignis Pink and are fragrant.
There is another brug from your seed that is budded and ready to open anytime. It looks yellow, only time will tell.

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

cala... what type of leaves are on the white? I got both smooth and tooth one on mine from this cross

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Irish, they are smooth. I have another one of hers that's almost open, can't tell if it's gonna be white yet, but it has smooth leaves too.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I can't beleive its fragrant!Maybe I just can't smell the suckers...is that possible????Although the white had fragrance at nite, not much but some. My Isabella has buds, finally. My first blooms of the year,is Isabella fragrant?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

NO! maybe if you get your nose in it!

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Dang it all!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

She's a beauty though. CC, don't you have Dr Suess?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I don't know if I do or don't,I'm still trying to figure out what is what.I have JO that calla sent me,I have DS that tig sent me.What is what?

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Good question, Cala will probably have to answer. JO is same as charles grimaldi, but lots of us have JO that is actually Dr. Suess, i guess DS is Dr. Suess.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

see,I'm sooo confused!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Karen, I have Charles Grimaldi. If I sent you something labeled JO, it's CG. Sorry. I'll have to start you a piece of this versicolor orange, if you can't smell it at 50 ft, your smeller is messed up.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

OK I have Charley, now I gotta get him to bloom! And Susie,If its a smelly brug-I want it,I wanna give my DH's orientals some competition!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

CC, this one will definitely give them a run for the money, lol.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

And to top it off, it is pretty too. It was one of my favorite deck pots last year.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Waaah, the one I thought was yellow or pink from Earl's seed is white too. it has serrated leaves.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Cala, i have never seen an insignis or suavolens pink with serrated leaves (limited experience here), have you?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Arlene, I'm not sure, but don't think I have. You've been growing them longer than I have though.

Cala,
Post a picture of Earls seedlings flower....maybe the plant has some Aurea in it.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I never thought of that, I sure will. It's got 6 points and starts out yellowish, but when it opens it's white.
