Brug Alley start

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Decided to have a small Brug alley to go with new arbor DH bought for me. Sunray will be first in line. Will just have four Brugs on each side of the arbor making a path to the arbor and then expand each side with rows of Brugs.Nothing fancy, I'm just trying to keep them close to the house so we can sit out in the evening and smell them. This is mostly full sun so my doubles will have to go down in the back where there is afternoon shade.

snow, it's going to be wonderful. I don't know why I'm always surprised to see such a big plant in such a small pot. Are you going to drill the holes in the pots and put them in the ground?

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It's a five gallon pot Liz. Some I'm going to drill holes in and some I'll plant in the ground. Can't keep them all this winter so the special ones I want for trees next year I'll plant in the pots so I can lift them.Begged DD for a corner of her basement for a few of them since I don't have one. I'm afraid I'll have to keep just cuttings on many of them next winter.Just don't have the room to keep all of the big ones.

It's going to be beautiful. That's a nice plant.

Snow, is it finally warm enough to put them out. That's a gorgeous plant and the rest of your plants in the GH look so healthy, I'm sure your Brug Alley will be quite something. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Well, Sunray ended up back in the Gh last night. We had bad storms here with high winds, rains and hail.DH has the next 3 days off and they all have to be planted out.The tops of some of them in the GH have buds which will be damaged against the GH roof if I don't get them out.I think the real cold weather is gone Jeanne. 5 day forecast is 40's to 50's at night.Cool this week with 60's daytime temps. Good for planting.
tiG, you just wait and your Brugs will be outgrowing mine in no time with your heat. You'll be posting pictures of your blooms before you know it.
