Heard that postage will be going up, by the end of June. Those of you having trades may want to check, so that you are not paying almost $6 instead of $3.95 for the same weight. I hope this is not going to happen as will greatly decrease my trading.
Postage going up
Yep I seen that also and think it totally STINKS!!!!!!!! Like it cost anymore to deliver a package. All they want is more money for less service. I also noticed that priority packages arent arriving in the 3 days as they say it will. I had a package mailed last tuesday and still have not received it. If I dont get it by tomorrow I am going to the PO to find out where it is.

I got back from mailing packages-in a total snit. Everything is going up. The rates are going to be different depending on how many zones the package has to go across (zip codes define the zones). So the package that cost me $6.45 today would cost $9.90 after 7/1.
A simple letter will be .37, I think I will mail out all birthday and holiday cards for the year.
I am afraid that my "steam" leaked over onto e-mail that I answered this afternoon. Somehow, I do not think fewer packages will get loss or plants get to their new home sooner. I had expected an increase, but was surprised on how much and having to figure out the cost by zip codes to decide if I can afford to trade with someone. :(
Wow that much cost postage. Too much!
To keep it in perspective, look at sites for companies like FedEx and UPS. They often promise service that doesn't occur, and charge quite a bit more in most cases.
I don't like the increase, either, but with folks resorting to email rather than letters, and the anthrax scare keeping folks from mailing things, they have to find a way to pay the employees. Raising the rates is their way of making sure they don't have to layoff workers.

UPS was, in the past, only slightly higher than the PO.
Looks to me, like UPS is soon going to be the bargain.
AND,..UPS has always had insurance on their packages at no extra charge.
I really have had no complaints against my post office, or the service. Even have become buddies with many of the workers, due to my little trading addiction,...
Yep,....I'm really gonna miss them.
