My first brug buds ever!

Elizabethton (Stoney, TN(Zone 6b)

Got this plant from Calalily in April. It's still pretty short but has 7 buds. How long will it be until I have flowers? I hope it waits until after June 18 (I'll be gone to Oregon for son's wedding).

Neat GL - I know you must be excited!! I have my first bud coming too, on one from Arlene I got last fall. I can't read the name on it but I think It said Pink!! What is yours??

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Congratulations GL, they should wait till you're back from your trip to open. They still have a ways to go. You've gotta come back to the Jungle House, I bet I had a thousand open blooms in there today.

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

GL seems to have buds on everything right now! LOL So WHAT are you doing RIGHT? giggle

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Oh GL, why not just bring it with you an I can watch it for you when you go down to Bend, you have to fly into portland, and the airport is about 8 minutes away from me, I can come pick it up and then give it back to you when you leave......(are we going to try to get together while you are here? I would love to meet you, even without the brug......) you could see my brugs.
I am excited for your blooms. How long will you be in Oregon?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Way to go GL. tiG, I have to tell you that even here in Iowa, I have buds and several open blooms on Dr. Suess. Also wanted you to know that the tiny Insignis Rosea that you sent me has made a Y at about 8 inchs of height. It is going to look a little silly when it blooms. I'll have to take lessons from, was it JT, to learn how to prop up the blooms. My shredded white has buds now and so does Tragedy. Can't wait for them all to put on a show. GL and Pebble, I hope you can get together. There is nothing like meeting our DG friends. I know I was excited when I first met Kyle. What nice people you all are!!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Brugie, thanks for your sentiments and encouragement, I hope to meet GL, if we can work it out. I bet it was quite something meeting Kyle ;)
Are your brugs still in the greenhouse? or flowering outside?

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

tiG - you're not alone - I'm right behind you!!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Good job GL. Tig your not alone, I have no buds yet either.

Rapid City, SD(Zone 5b)

How exciting GL! Nice job - take a picture and post when it blooms!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

trust me, I don't take pleasure that I'm not alone. I just want something to bloom!!!!!!!! I water them, feed them, talk to them, check them, keep the bugs off them, am I asking too much????

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Pebble, my brugs are all outside and most are in the ground. I've been out to the one in bloom several times tonight just to get another whiff of the fragrance. I'd really forgotten how good they smell.

tiG, I haven't been babying mine this year. I do check for bugs and make sure they don't run out of moisture, fat chance here right now, and pull a weed now and then, but last year I was on them all the time doing something. Don't have the time this year. Makes a different going from 13 of them to over 40. I know you have more than I do, so I don't envy you the work, but the pleasure is generally worth it. Should say that Cygon really works for bugs. It seems to last for a long time too. I did the Sang that is in the house about a month ago, and it has not had one sign of a mite since then. It was loaded with them when I soaked the soil. If I have a problem with bugs outside, I'm going to water one time with Cygon and see if that won't take care of the problem. It doesn't smell good for a couple of days though.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I'll have to see if I can find that. only have a very few whiteflies right now, but the grasshoppers and cats are eating them up!
I'm not really babying them, too many things to really baby them, but I would do most anything to see one bud right now:)

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Brugie - you haven't had any problems using Cygon? I was wondering if it would harm the brugs. Have you sprayed with it or just used it as a soil drench?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I did both the first time I used it. Nearly ran me out of the house. Then I read the label and it says for outside use. Duh!! The second time I used it, I only needed to do the sang and just did the soil drench. I was a little worried about spraying the fuzzy leaves on the sang. Have seen no problem with any of the brugs, but be sure you mix it like it says.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Congratulations on your buds GL.You'll have to post another picture when they open.
