Sweet White Violet
Viola blanda

These are short growing violets and can easily cross breed with others, hence, the "Freckles" variety came from a white violet and a purple violet.

Poppy it is unusual and right up my alley, does if flower at all or is this your fist year growing it?

Windsurfer - I started it last year from seed. It should flower this year for me. It has a yellow poppy flower. I'll post another picture when it blooms.

Thanks, I will be watching for it.

This is native to my part of the world - and across europe. Here it grows on shingle beaches - it likes it hot and free-draining! Don't go feeding it either lol.

The flower is quite spectacular - large in relation to the rest of the plant.
I've got some slides of it in flower taken in Greece, if i can find one i'll post it (big if!)

Here we call it 'Yellow Horned Poppy' or just 'Horned Poppy'
