really aggravated

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I have taken great care in keeping my plants labeled with what they were said to be. I just noticed on my two Butterfly that they aren't even close to being the same . One is *extremely* velvety and one is not at all velvety. Never noticed before because they weren't growing close and was just too busy to pay attention. After all the double white talk, I've been looking at every leaf in a new light.
Can someone either post a picture or at least tell me which theirs is?

tiG - I know what you mean. I had them scattered all over in no particular order. Last week in frustration because I couldn't find something I lined them all up in alphabetical order. This told me which ones I had multiples of. BUT it also told me which ones that were supposed to be the same but weren't. I know my labels haven't been mixed up so I think this will be an interesting season. I'm trying to be positive here.

that's a good idea, I have such a mess out there, I've been working on it all morning (in between coming in to the a/c)
I'm going to do that, and I'm sure it will help.
in the meantime, I'm certain one of these is right, but which one?

Tig, butterfly leaves can be very large and there's never been anything velveety about mine. (i have this one marked right too!). mine Yed, both Ys Yed again at next leave joints at 180 degrees, and are Ying again, have 15-20 buds on them, it's about my height now. this is one beautiful plant and i think i'm gonna end up with about 6 of them!!! to my knowledge, the candidas are the only velveety ones, and other crosses like Eric's can be real velveety, but mainly on the new growth.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

okay, then that helps with this. Good thing I have the velvet one in the front bed, I won't miss what it's going to be. this is velvety all over and it's the most velvety one i have.

Tig, if it's really velvety then it's probably a candida x of some sort. Eric had a really velvety leaf one called Frosted Velvet, I think. Maybe that's it.

I have one Frosted Velvet and this isn't it. will be interesting when it blooms:)

I have a feeling they're will be lots of surprises this summer. LOL. Wonder how many FP and DS we'll all have.

TiG, I got Butterfly from Eric, I will have to check the leaves tomorrow. I also got one from Brugie. I'll compare them.

My Butterfly doesnt have velvety leaves but the leaves are large and do have a ruffled edge.I have a recent pic of a partly open bloom.I will post it and see if it shows leaf detail. One nice thing about Butterfly is that it has the darkest pink bloom, almost red.
