Water Hyacinths

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Does anyone have some water hyacinths? I live in a colder climate and these are for an enclosed pond so they will not spread. I have some "blue flag" iris and some ajuga to trade.

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

woodspirit, I saw your post, and I would gladly send you some, but my dogs decided to take a bath (in the pond) and MAUL my water hyacinths this afternoon. I managed to salvage two tiny ones out of a dozen or so that were going strong :(

I'm sure somebody south of here, especially Louisiana, Alabama, or Florida can grab some growing wild and send to you.

P.S. you don't want a couple of part-lab mutts do you? I'll gladly send THEM, and pay the postage myself! (Just kidding ;)

Temple, GA(Zone 7b)

You've got mail!!!!!

Thanks,

go_vols, Traci and I connected and she is sending me 3 for a bunch of ajuga. Thanks.
I also have a hard time keeping the neighbors mutt out of my pond, but I love the dang nuisance, so I'm stuck.

Oklahoma City, OK(Zone 7a)

These plants have just recently been declared "noxious weeds" here in AL. No one is allowed to sell them anymore. I guess they aren't as invasive up north.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

They won't winter over here in the north - so we have no problems with them. I know down south they'll take over & clog water ways. We're having a problem up here with Asian Milfoil - it's a cousin to Parrot's Feather. We have to check our boat every time it goes in or comes out of the water. Pieces of it get stuck on the prop and it can be transfered to other lakes that way.
