HELP! Need Easy Way To Weight Down Floaters?

Needham, MA(Zone 6a)

Just received a bunch of Hornwort,Frogbit, and Anachris from "The Water Garden Shop" catalogue. I have to weight the floater, to point the roots down, and to secure the Anachris and Frogbit on bottom. Any suggestions how to do both the easiest way?

the way I do it is take rubber bands or string, lay a small rock across the string, and tie about 6 bunches of anachris into it. I used to use rubber bands only, but after a while they don't hold. trying string this year.

Believe it or not I find the best thing to use are fishing weight's!! Very cheap and they are just like little anchors!!!!!!!

Guy at fish store JUST last nite was telling me he uses fishing line tied to stones. but. I like the idea of fish sinker weights much better.

I'd never heard of using the weights, what a great idea!!

I thought of it years ago because when I had aquariums I used to buy lead weights that were specially made to keep down the same plants in aquariums. Hard to find those weights now but sometimes you see them. They amount to just a narrow band of lead that you wrap around the plants gently. Never seemed to bother the fish or their babies.

Thanks everybody!
