Error problems with IE

Anyone know why I am getting an error box that comes up when I am on Internet Explorer that says "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and will shut down." It cuts off and I get sent back to my homepage. This is very frustrating. I think I have IE 6. We have tried reinstalling Internet Explorer but to no avail. If anyone has any helpful hints, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
