TiG, when I first saw these for sale in Florida, they had them in hanging baskets. I like to put things in these cocoliner baskets, keeps them out of the way. I gave these lots of sun and plenty of osmocote and they've grown and bloomed like crazy.

Mine is in full sun, I feed it once every 2-3 month using Osmocote, and water it every other day. It been blooming for over 2 months now, blooming season is almost over.

Tim, it's doing great since I put it in the full sun. I do feed with Osmocote.
I edited this because I thought I was replying to the passionflower post!!

Susie,
I think it has more to do with the size of the clump. A few years ago our only set a few blooms at a time, once the babies formed I would turn the runners around and stick the them right next to the mother plant. After doing that for a few years, the clump has gotten big, about 10" across at soil line.

Tim, that's a huge clump!! I have let the runners hang this year. I pulled a few off and stuck them in the brug pots for "ground cover" and they are doing great too.

Is that the one you got at the swap in March? Surely not that big already. Mine bloomed off and on all summer/fall I thought (maybe I'm dreaming). Sometimes I've wondered if they bloom more when rootbound. Don't know that for a fact, but mine have been blooming a lot already and they are terribly rootbound.

tiG, I've always kept mine in pots off the ground or in baskets, but I think this year I'm gonna plant some in the ground and see what happens.

Gingerlily, I already had this one. The one Lauren got at the swap is doing good too, but I don't think it's bloomed yet.

Cool idea. Never thought of putting them in baskets.

Here in florida, mine have been blooming their little hearts out since March. I have them in large pots...upright. What do you use for soil? I'm going to transplant some of the babies into a hanging basket...good idea.

I use Pro-Mix.
