Dr D has bloomed.

Dr D is different than any of my other Brug flowers. It's not a solid color and has shades of peachy pink(is that a color?)swirled through it. A beautiful flower this picture doesn't do it justice.

This is the second day that it has been open but if it does change color I will certainly post a pic tiG. Eric deserves a big pat on the back for this one.

Dr.D will get a lot darker than than and a complete peach color on occassion. Its one of my earliest bloomers and it was actually the earliest bloomer from my Dr.Sues x Ecuador pink crosses. I'd still like to see that one crossed to his sister Amber Rose or perhaps Butterfly.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who just just said -"oh, good, he's back"

Eric, Next year I can cross it to Butterfly but now she is just a baby. Don't have Amber Rose so that's out.I do have In.P, Isabella, SG, versi Alba, Milk N Honey and versi Peach in bloom now.Out of what I have on hand what do you think would be a good cross with Dr D? So glad you're back.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I plan to cross it to both. You should be real proud Eric, it's beautiful.

SnowHermit, if you use Dr.D as the pollen donor...I think crossing her to Versi peach, Milk and Honey, and Isabella would be the way to go. Using the first named as the most wanted cross and the last named as the most likely to need a bunch of seedlings to get just one lucky one. Of course, personally, I would go with crossing her to Isabella first as I would rather go after something a bit more evasive.

I have DrD X S, is it the same color? Snow, I have Amber Rose and if it's okay with Eric, I'll start you a piece of it as soon as it makes a side shoot. I don't want to cut the top out. It's gotten about 3 feet tall now and is a beautiful plant.
Liz, I too was so glad to see Eric posting again!! We sure have been worried about you Eric!!

Cala,
I have created DxS L, DxS M, DxS R---stands for Dr.Sues x Solid Gold left, middle, and right hybrids....all 3 unique seedlings, but all three from the same seedpod. Last part of their names correspond to their locations in my seed bed when they bloomed. As for Amber Rose, I would love for you to share her with Snow as she is my favorite of all of my seedlings.

Thanks Eric. I'll start a piece for her as soon as a little side branch is big enough to take. I thought you had named your seedlings by the position they were in.

Thanks so much Cala. That would be great. No hurry so you wait for those side shoots. Don't want you choppin up your plant now.Missed all the posts yesterday as we had no power all day due to real bad storms. It blew trees down but the Sangs we planted out are still standing up nice out in the garden. Go figure.
