Very pretty - is is hardy like the purple heart??
I don't know yet, Azalea. I've had this off and on for a while and always bring it in when frost threatens. My research tells me it's not, but I plan to root a few pieces outside in a flowerbed and see if they come back next year (I hope I remember to do that this year ;-). Thanks for the compliment!
Mine dies back in winter even here in san diego. I wouldn't risk it. I almost fainted the first year. I haven't found it to be very hardy. It is kind of hard to start too. I am getting more sucessful though.
Well, some bad news, Azalea. I had the pot in the above pic outside this spring and we had a hard freeze. It hasn't come back yet. :( We've had some health problems in the family this year so I never brought it back in. It go hit more than once with freezes and I think it's toast. I never did try to root it and plant some in a flowerbed. Might do better in the ground?
