outside. Little be little we are starting to plant them in the ground.DH has tilled up most of the back yard.I had told him I wanted a garden for the Brugs and he's tilled the whole darn yard up. He said the Brugs can't be planted too close together so he made them lots of room. Now anywhere I go in the yard I'm stepping in a foot of tilled up dirt. The Sangs got planted today and a couple of others that I had doubles of.Temps are in 50's at night and going down to 40's end of week.My question is if I plant the ones out now that have buds and flowers will they lose them due to the shock of being planted out? I read that the leaves turn yellow when you first plant them out and I'm afraid of losing the buds and pods by putting them out.
Brugs finally going
Snow, just be sure to water them. I forget sometimes that the first two weeks, it's like they are still in the pots and they need extra water till the roots start spreading out and even though the soil is moist, the root ball may be dry. Getting too dry has caused more of my leaves to fall than anything else.
Snow, you probably won't lose buds. i think it's worse on them going from inside your house to outside, from the greenhouse i don't think there should be much of a problem, and the cool at night shouldn't hurt, we were in the low 50s several nights a week or two ago.
Thanks Cala and Arlene.I've been turning the heat in the GH down gradually for the last few weeks and its turned off now. I hope for good. I guess I've just babied them all winter in the house and then in the GH that I'm afraid to put them out on their own. Maybe it's empty nest syndrome. LOL
Snow, I'll be interested in seeing a picture of your brug garden when you get them all planted. Will be a gorgeous site I'm sure.
Ditto! I would love to see all your beautiful brugs in your garden. They are all so big and I know it will be beautiful.
I wanna see too. I want mine to look as lush as yours!!
