My little Datura

Here is my Datura that returns every year...guess the house keeps the roots from freezing...the top does freeze back.

Looks real pretty to me.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Boy, it is sure a healthy looking plant. Wish I didn't have to grow them from seed every year.

Shirley,
This is the only one that has ever returned....it will get so big that I have to trim it back a couple of times or we can't get into the garage on that side. This Datura is running up some string on the wall too.

Gloria, it is really cool looking. Mine aren't doing much yet, but we are to have 80's for a while, so I expect to see a lot of things begin to grow.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Very pretty Datura.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Very pretty. Is it blooming now? Your spring is so far ahead of ours.

Cala,
Yes, it has a few that are open but a lot that will be opening maybe tomorrow.
I think we only had two days of spring this year.....we went from winter to summer in April.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

That's pretty Datura. HOpe mine will be able to come back every year.

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Glory,
I have one thats against the south foundation at home that comes back each year too! The ground stays thawed out about a foot from the basement.Cannas can even survive here in Iowa outdoors if close enough to the house and you have a heated basement!:-)

montgomery, AL(Zone 7b)

glory how pretty.. my poor Datura has been attacked twice by some BIG green Catapiller.. I didn't wait to see if the poison would kill it.. if U know what I mean. BOY!!! can they chew down a plant over nite. So far my one brug has excaped much damage & has buds on it.. can hardly wait for it to bloom. Do the blooms only last 1 day? That's all the ones on the Datura lasted. They were hugh though.
Sugar

Sugar,
Yes, the bloomes only last one day. I just hope this plant slows down on the growth.
