HG Brug

Just noticed my HG(double Orange) has 19 buds on it and they are about 3inches long.....been a long time coming. I will surely take pictures when it does bloom.

Gloria . . . That is so exciting. How big is your HG? I guess I can only hope that mine will bloom this year. It sure does take this Texas heat well but it is a slow grower.

Frannie,
I guess it's about 4 1/2 to 5 ft tall...got a new baby coming up on it too. I'm so excited about the buds....maybe I'll move my bed to the Gazebo so I can keep an eye on it at night. LOL

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

19?? - I'm sick with envy. I have noticed that mine are really putting on a big growth spurt right now - big healthy leaves and growing taller every day. Alas - not buds. :~((
I simply cannot wait until I see everyone's pictures this year. It really seems as if all of us have accumulated so many over the last year. This is our summer to see the rewards. Yay!

Glory....Mine is growing..is about 3 feet tall now from a cutting last winter.Hope it looks like Preissels pic of HG. :-)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Glory, I'm full of questions, but the main one is: How old is your plant? I'm asking so I'll know about when I might expect to see buds on mine. I'm afraid it won't have time to bloom this year. :-(

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Keep us posted. I can't wait to see it bloom.

Shirley,
If I can remember correctly...and you know how hard that is, I think I got this from Barb last spring...it was a small rooted plant. I planted it in the ground before I went to Australia and that was at the end of March.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Do you mean a year ago? Man, I don't know if I can wait that long........will have to get my HG fix from your pictures. :-) Thanks Gloria!!

S,
Yes, a year ago...it's a slow bloomer.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Okay, now I'm cryin' here.........

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I'm crying too Shirley. Mine are small also. Probably won't have blooms this year either.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Snow, maybe we will luck out. Stranger things have happened.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

I think it's like culebra, when it kicks in will pick up speed of growth. it's definitely one worth babying over winter i guess. mine died back last winter, let it sit for a few weeks, starting watering. is in the ground now, about 3 1/2 to 4 feet. i HAVE to get the good fertilizer on this week.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Mine was tiny last year. It's growing like crazy now. Give yours some Osmocote and watch it grow!! Now that spring is here finally, the brugs have really taken off.
Brugie, remember those little brugs you sent me a month ago? They are a foot tall now and so healthy!!!

Mine was a small cutting in the late summer and now is about 5 feet tall and lots of Y's, no buds yet, but should be soon. It's in the conservatory, too windy outside for that baby. Had some horrible winds last night and shredded a lot of brugs in large pots outside. Wonderful Wet Coast Weather, not.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Glad to hear it Cala. I'll just cross my fingers that my HG and Whiskers will decide it is really summer and get with the program. They have grown quite a bit since you sent them, but you know me.......I just can't wait!!
