How beautiful - I bought one about 4 years ago and it is so pitiful compared with this rich aboundace of foliage. Mine only has about 3 fronds each year. This is a gorgeous display. Could you "transplant a few" to Ga???
Wow !! That is gorgeous ! I have a tiny one I just bought from home depot. I don't think I'd be so lucky in Maryland putting it outside. Yours looks like it was made to be right there. Very lovely
Thanks, Azalea! I honestly I haven't tried transplanting them yet, so I don't know. I just love this part of the creek! I took a couple other pictures of the stream and cypress trees and I'm going to put them in my journal later.
Wingnut, my son regularly transplants these into pots in his backyard. But they need constant misting or seepage of water, as in the limestone cliffs, etc. They are perfect for a rock to the side of your artificial waterfall. I don't know if they could survive being mailed, and certainly not this time of year. The best time would probably be in very late winter or early spring, when they were still brown and just ready to break dormancy.
Thanks, Lil_Pipsqueak, they were made to be right there I think! LOL! They've been there for years ~ ever since I can remember.
I kinda' figured they would crisp right up, Aimee. They're so delicate looking. Thanks for the info. I haven't tried transplanting them yet as I don't have a wet place like this to transplant them. If I want to enjoy them, I just go down to the Little Cypress Creek and groove.
