This one is just a great brug ((o:
Just started bloom again today.
Even the buds are striped!!
Alice
Brugmansia Sunset/Maya ..Everthing stripes!!
That is soooo cool.is P&C striped like that on the buds?
CC, I have P&C and it just bloomed. It sure didn't look like that one though. The buds were a pale shade of green, not as dark as the other ones.
I have to say Alice, I agree with CC, that is just too cool.
Alice,
My Maya just finished blooming and it didn't have striped buds...neither did my P&C when it bloomed last year.
Alice, I think this must be what I have that was sent to me as Peaches and Cream. I also have P&C and they don't look the same at all. I'd like to see a picture of the blooms if you could do that so I will have something to compare to when mine does bloom. Cool buds!!
Very pretty plant Alice. My P&C hasn't budded yet but the Suav. Variegata has striped buds too. They don't get as long as the ones on your Maya though. It's really neat looking.
Glory, sounds like we could have a good FP style chat about maya and p&c again....very pretty. please post pics of blooms!
I have P&C and also one from Msjen, the one from Jen has buds and they are striped. The P&C doesn't have buds yet.
Cala,
The one from Jen...is it the V.White?
Arlene,
You are right about that. LOL I couldn't find that P&C picture here on Daves.
Alice,
My Maya is getting ready to bloom again and the bud are striped...my mistake.
Gloria, do you have an extra cutting of Maya, I have both the P&C and Variegated White and would like this to go with them. If not maybe the fall when you start cutting.
My P&C bloomed recently. It had striped buds.It also set a seed pod which it later aborted.Yep...striped
Dee,
I'll get you one when you come by in June.
Has anyone else had their P&C revert to all green? Mine did in just a few months. Has anyone got a variegated P&C cutting to spare?
Barbara
Barb,
I have one that returned in the yard....let me see if I can dig it up....I have another one. I'll let you know tomorrow.
Barbara - Monika mentioned awhile back that if a variegated brug gets frozen it will revert.
Liz,
This was a greenhouse plant. My Maya is planted outside and freezes back in winter. No change.
My Maya makes me happy every year with a sprout out of the bottom, having normal green leaves. Sometimes, there are sprouts without any green marking. They quit growing at about 30cm length.
I just sent Barb a P&C that froze back last winter and it came back like normal(Variegated)...maybe it's just our good living here in the South. LOL
Thanks Gloria, by the way, did you go to Kartuz while you were out in San Diego. I would like to go by there if it is worth the trip. Will be down in San Diego on Monday.
(DD is doing homework for her master's so can't go shopping right now, so what better to do than a trip to DG's)
Dee,
No we didn't go but I did call them looking for the Goldfinger Plant and they didn't have it....they told me to go to Logee's on line.
You might want to check out Anderson's nursery while in San Diego....we went to the one Poway but I didn't see any thing special. Andersons did have Brugs but as normal they had them marked white, yellow, pink and etc....no names.
Gloria,
I may have asked before but what is the Goldfinger Plant.
Thanks for P&C. Your plant will go out in mail first of week.
Barb,
Heres a picture of the Goldfinger....Kyle said it's not that great of a plant.

Gloria,
I received 4 nice cuttings of Goldfinger, Juanulloa Aurantica several weeks ago. Two of them look good and seem to be rooting. If all goes well, I can share some time this summer. Depending on how fast they grow.
Barb,
How in this world do you find these things. LOL Yes, I'd love a start if yours takes.
