Looking for......

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Any plant that would grow in a bog garden. I don't have much but I do have some starters of various plants and different seeds and could do some postage too :)
LMK as I'm trying to get this bog going :)

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I can send you some Louisiana iris, blue.

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

that would be neat Aimee, thanks bunches :)

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Sue, How about chameleon plant (I hate to try to spell this one: houyotama :?( How about variegated acorus? Also will have some callas in the fall that are perfect for bogs. I also am cursed with a spring (only) bog and have been killing some plants trying to make them grow well: these do great in bogs, and all but the callas are hardy :)

Also have seeds for different color forget-me-not which thrive in bogs or dry.

Kathy ;)

I would love some if you have some to share Kathy. What would you want in return? I plan on transferring most of it into the basement in the winter to grow under lights in water down there........ought to be an experience :o)

I could maybe meet you somewhere to save on shipping? LMK

Kylertown, PA(Zone 5b)

I can send you some seeds of Jack-In-The-Pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum) in the fall. My In-laws have a camp which is bordered by boggy, swampy land, and the JITP's grow all over. I usually throw the seed around in the fall, and I have managed to cultivate quite a healthy population of them in the last six to eight years. I don't think the eco-system will suffer too much if I send you twenty or so seeds. :-)

The only problem is-- I don't know how to germinate them. I just figured that if spread them around, they would do fine on their own and they have.

thanks Rebecca, that would be nice. Don't forget me in the fall now.........LOL

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Sent an e-mail, but want to post it here too, is your bog going to be in sun or shade or both? Will it be accessed to or from public waterways? Some plants are so invasive you have to be careful not to introduce them into streams/lakes etc.

Kathy, I appreciate everything but I can't take any plants. You'll understand more if you read "Major crisis" in General forum. I'm not doing good at all

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

Calla lillies will grow in a bog garden?

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Woodspirit, I have grown them in a pot mostly submerged in my water garden for several years. They thrive! Helps make the bulb grow bigger without multiplying quite as big. Local nurseries sell them to grow in water gardens, too.
