This is the same kind of damage done to some of my morning glory bushes. I also found very few mites. Amazing what they can do.

They are bad little bugs.

I agree with you - they get resistent so quick to insectizides, that almost nothing really helps anymore.


Do these mites prefer a acidic or a alkalic environment?

I agree with you they are very hard to kill....I have been using plain old water on them lately.....just take the hose and give the underside of the leaves a good spray everyday until they are no longer there. This method does take a lot of time but I have had good luck with it.

Spider mites like it warm and dry air (low humidity). High humidity kills most of them.
Spider mites are no tropical pests. They are also known as Obstbaumspinnmilbe and are feared, when they infest fruit trees.
