Master Mix- I like this one because it uses oil instead of solid fats

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

Master Mix

4 cup flour 2/3 cup nonfat dry milk 1 tsp. salt

3 TBLSP. baking powder 1/2 cup vegetable oil

Mix flour, salt, baking powder, and dry milk well. Add oil and mix until evenly distributed. Store in cool dry place or freezer. 2 cups mix + about 1/3- 1/2 cup water makes a batch of biscuits. I also add eggs, sweetener of choice, and maybe some fremented applesauce or grape butter to make muffins or coffee cake.
I actually make about 3 batches at once as we use it so much. Funny, when we had all the children at home the other times I did each batch of everything from scratch and now that there are just the 3 of us I make the mix and use it. Yes, I knew of the mix back then, just too foolish to use it.
