Hello,
I just purchased one of these plants and it looks exactly like your picture (except for one thing) sometime it can look as if it is completely dead to the world, and I know I water it enough.
And then, I can take a look at it later and it looks like there was nothing ever wrong with it. I tell you, it is the darndest thing!
Could you tell me what I could be doing wrong? Do they need to be fertilized or anything? It hasn't bloomed yet so I'm really looking forward to seeing what it will eventually look like (if it just hangs in there) :)
Do you have a before and after picture of yours?
Thanks so much for any advice you could give me.
It may be that the roots aren't established in the soil yet. If you just bought it and JUST planted it, I'd say that's the case. It may wilt a little in the sun until the roots can spread out in the soil and get themselves established. I'm afraid I don't have a blooming picture of mine yet. I didn't take any last year. It won't bloom until at least mid-summer, so give it time. Yours 'might' bloom sooner this year if you bought it at a nursery. Nursery sold plants are normally a few weeks ahead of everything else if there were raising in a greenhouse in the spring. Here's a few photos out on the net of this plant in bloom:
