I am trying to find flowers that will survive in the shade. Can you tell me what the yellow flowers in the background are?

Woodland Phlox is becoming very rare in our area. I identified a few patches in the deep woods at the back of my brother's farm and he has "fenced them in" so his cattle won't trample them. I know of a few other areas where it grows on shady roadsides, but it is being smothered by other "non-native" plants. I tried twice to transplant small bunches to my shade garden but it didn't take to being moved so I stopped trying. Please keep trying to help it survive any way you can!

It's quite common here, but I've never tried to transplant any. I do not have favorable conditions in my yard for it. Just about all of the creekbanks and open woods around here have nice colonies though, and the scent carries for great distances.

I'm lucky enough to live in a rural area that hasn't been developed much. If I see 'progress' moving in on it's habitat, I'll try and relocate some though.
