Brug seedlings!

Calalily gave me a green seed pod some time ago (6 weeks?) and I let it dry for a few weeks and then cracked it open and sowed the seeds. I now have 6 shiny brug seedlings, ready to surprise me. Thanks Calalily! :)

WoW Dave, those look great!! You'll be catching up with me in no time.

Well, I'll never have the amount of brugs that you have, but maybe the variety. :-) All the brugs you gave me (as well as from Poppysue and Abutilon) are doing fantastic in the main garden. The sanguinea is 4 feet tall and has buds.

Dave, is that the sang from me? Wow, you must really be feeding it good. Mine is kind of floppy, just moved it to a bigger pot. I had forgotten about it and it was still in the little 6in pot.

Dave, how long did it take your Sanguine from seed t bloom. I am also growing them.

Patricia

Calalily: Yes, the one from you. I haven't been feeding it much fertilizer, but I did pot it up into a very big container and placed it in partial shade (a little morning sun). I also potted up the sanguinea from Poppysue in the same kind of container, and it's not yet shot up. It was a bit smaller when I got it, though, so I expect it will catch up very soon.

Patricia: It's not blooming yet, and I actually don't know how old this plant is. You'd have to ask Calalily, since she is the one that gave me the plant. :) I'd say it's currently about a month away from its first bloom.

Calla Lily, do you know how old Dave's Sanguinea is? I just moved mine outside in a patially shaded huge planter. We get hot weather some in the summer and I think this is the best place I have for it. But I would love
to know how long it will take for mine to bloom. I started it back in January.

Dave how exciting! I would really like to know when they flower for you....

Patricia, I'm not Dave but I planted a few Sang seeds on 12/26. They sprouted on 1/4 and now have small flower buds on them.I've got to get them outside soon so they don't lose their buds in the GH heat.

Those are nice healthy looking seedlings you've got there Dave.

Thanks :) The seedpod never did ripen completely - it started to mold really bad, so I went ahead and took the seeds out. Hundreds of seeds molded and never germinated, but I managed to get 6 seedlings out of the deal. Can't wait to see them perform.

Me too. They grow so different from the other Brugs. Mine are sprawling and really need to go outside.

Dave, I think I planted them in January. I bought them off of Ebay. I'll have to check the records.

Alright Dave- did ya soak them and peel em? I am looking for the magic sprouting method!!

I did soak but I did not peel them. I soaked them for about 12 hours and then sowed directly in potting soil.
