1st bloom

montgomery, AL(Zone 7b)

This is the 1st bloom our Datura has had.. I'm not sure which one it is. It has a hint of purple around the edge which didn't show in the picture. I'm sure someone can tell me which one it is :)

It is a D. wrightii, Sugar. The white one looking a bit like this is D. inoxia. If you grow both and in doubt, you can tell by the scent and by the look of the leaves lol

There are also another species, D. meteloides (not currently recognised by science), that looks even more like D. wrightii. The flowers are also ususally white with colored edge, but the flowers has another shape and the leaves are very different.

Very pretty. Don't they just seem to glow in the evening? Is it fragrant?

Very Pretty. I have one blooming now with lavendar blooms. Not large blooms, but still pretty. Have to watch it closely to remove the seed pods or I would have a big problem. Will try to catch a pic. one evening since I'd like Tonny to ID it anyway.

I love D.Wrightii.

lovely, the picture looks so velvety, like you can just reach out and caress the leaves...
