Here is a picture I took of the Brug at Linclon in the Balboa Park area of San Diego. Notice the roof of the car....this will let you know how tall this Brug really is. This is the Brug that I got the seeds from.
San Diego Brug1
wow!
what do you think we need to do to be able to get ours to grow that big?
im seriously going to try insulation and duct tape, lol..may look funny, but ya never know. stranger things have happened.
jen
cool...
Jen,
I think we might need to build a greenhouse around one just to see how big it can get here.
Gloria.... that what Earl does
Pete,
This one is really more like a tree then Earls....his is like a great big bushy thing.
Thats why my GH is going to stay as tall as it is(13' in the middle)It was suggested that I lower it to conserve heat, but the thought of growing a brug that size just gets to me!
Glory..thats not the same tree I saw...it wasn't near a palm and wasn't near that type of fence.Thats why you wondered if it was CG..instead of a versicolor. That would explain all the pods too CG sets lots of seeds in SD. :-)
I want a tree that big!!
Kyle,
We couldn't find the one you listed below....we looked and looked.
The other is on Lincoln st..between Florida st and Texas st. in North Park area.Take University ave to Florida and turn north about a block..then east about 1 1/2 blocks...is along an alley on east edge of a 3 story house on the north side of the street.
Glory..must be more than one large tree in that area now,,because The one I know of is a versicolor and is 3 stories high on the north side of the street at east end of a 3 story house. When I get out there I will check again. Meanwhile I'll repost my pic. :-)
Glory..I hope when I get out there this year it isn't gone..that would be a terrible waste. :-(
WOW.. I want that size!!!!
DH just announced that when we go to Arizona, we can go on to San Diego. I can't wait!!
Cala,
Be sure to go to Balboa Park while in San Diego...it is a very beautiful area....the rose garden is out of this world.
