Insignis Gold???

Does anyone have IG cuttings to trade?And while on that subject,is there an Insignis White?I have not seen the white on any of the commercial sites.

G2S, I'm pretty sure I still have an IG cutting left. I'll check today and post here later.

Doggone it, forgot to check. Someone pass me a brain please. I was so busy checking on the brugs to see if they got frosted on, I completely forgot.

Is there a big difference in Insignis Gold and say, Dr. Suess? I'm going to have to cull this fall. Just can't keep everything and will work my way back to one or two golds and yellows. I have an insignis gold that I'll share this fall. Right now there wouldn't be enough to take a good cutting. I ordered Amarillo Paja from someone who sells brugs and that thing isn't 8 inches tall and I've had it for over a month. It seems to be growing about as fast (or slow) as Insignis Gold. I wonder why some grow fast and others just sit..........

That Amarillo Paja is a nice Brug....I have one growing in the compost and it is doing well. I'll check it tomorrow if I can remember and see if it has any buds yet.

My IG is growing pretty fast.

Mine was going great and then it got hit with a cold spell. Even though it was in a sheltered area it lost it leaves and is sitting with no leaves and appears it won't put back out. Are they slow to emerge or is just mine?

My thinking is that Insignis would be good to hybridize with as it withstands the heat better than some.I like the leaf shape and color of my pink Insig as well.

Looks like I'm just going to have to baby my insignis gold and Amarillo Paja along for a while. I'm going to have to get me a compost pile.... :-)

Pour some of the transplant plus on those plants just sitting, usually will jump start stuff.

Will give that a try Arlene. Hate to see them not growing like the others.

Marrabeck hasn't bloomed for me yet.It is one of those that came from very far away.I think it is supposed to be brown.

Is Marrabech supposed to Marrakesh? (I should know how to spell it - in Morocco. If so - you're still make my heart race. LOL

If it's supposed to be brownish then it's Marrakesh. Liz, I got one from Paul so you'll have one in the fall.

Marakesch is a old species. I dont have it anymore, didnt like my climate.

Must be the same plant.Hodnik's catalog lists' it this way;
Marrakech:fleur orange/brun
Anyway,Liz I will have more cuttings in the fall if you need one then.

I live in a mountain range of 600m altitude. This is not the ideal climate for many Brugmansias. But by selecting, I have a good collection of well flowering plants. Florida climate is something, I can only dream of.
Over the weekend, we had 32°C, the next day only 10°C, today 15°C, tomorrow up into the 20°C and with Monday, the temperatures are supposed to go down into the 'basement'.
Tonight, they expect 4°C, 0°C is the freezing point.
Its not the right place for sensitive plants like Marrakesch.

Could you save me a cutting of the Marrakesch...it should do great here too?

I put a note in calendar program to remind me to email JT around Sept 10th, I think. See how bad my memory is. Can't remember what date I put in the puter, just last night. This getting old is all it's cracked up to be. :-)

i have more than my share of that senior stuff. honestly, i really do have some brugs marked right!

I think my CRC is getting worse every day. Went to buy a phone and after looking for 30 minutes, I finally decided on one that I liked the way it fit against my ear and after checking out - - - I realized I got one without caller ID. Is that dumb or what???? LOL

Don't feel bad....just went outside to find out something for Arlene and couldn't remember what I went outside for....it's getting bad.

i should never tell this, DD went to pick up DS the other day, i sent my cell phone with him in case he got lost, and showed him how to use the phone wrong, as in punch the number and hit the button to end the call. i must say he was a good sport about it, considering he did get lost and had to find someone to show him how to use the phone! sometimes i have the illusion that my brain is still working well.
