Hi Baa,

I was so excited to find a commercial vendor for seeds of this species, and put down a set of 5 seeds last night, sown as you would Salvia seeds. Does this species require stratification to germinate, or will the seeds wake up at room temperature? What was your experience with them? Thanks!

BTW the Salvia dolomitica you traded to me is doing awesome things so far, nicely thriving. I introduced it outdoors this past weekend and so far it is doing nicely.

Have a great day!

Joseph

They should germinate fairly easily. If they haven't sprouted in a month, pop them somewhere cold for a month and bring them back out to the warmth, that should jump start them.

This is a beautiful species, mine sadly died this year, I'll have to locate some more. I'm not sure if it's short lived or not but I have a feeling it is.

That's excellent news about the Salvia dolomitica, I hope it continues to thrive for you! We've had an odd spring for seed sowing ourselves, some have enjoyed it and others not so I'm going to have another bash at seed sowing before the end of May.

Thank you for the advice. I will let you know of my success (thinking positively).

I'm sorry, I got it wrong my plant did come back, I forgot they tend to lay in bed longer than many plants :)

Thank you. I am still trying to germinate seeds of this one. I will not give up. Salvia dolomitica is doing very well. It has leaves very much like S. discolor. Very nice.

Joseph
