English Bluebell, Wild Hyacinth (Hyacinthoides non-scripta)

Castelnau RB Pyrenée, France(Zone 8a)

These flowers carpet my local woods every spring. Some woods, however, now contain wild boar, which consider the bulbs to be a great delicacy! Hopefully, while i'd like populations of boar to remain, they will never be here in large enough numbers to wipe out the blubells.

Those are beautiful! And what kind of tree's are those in the back ground? The bark is so Slick and smooth looking?

Yeah, Wild Boar are MEAN and good to eat! I'd make sure that there wasn't too many. Wouldn't want them to start nibbling at your garden either! What a great Sunday Dinner, Wild Boar, Broccoli, Carrots, and Potatoes!!!!!! Haha!
Those things are sooo mean, I would be a little leary of the woods. Do they come out mostly in the Day or night?
We have them here in Ga, but Only South of here and East of here. I am about an hour West of Atlanta, and I have never seen or heard of any around here. I'm sure we'd know from how they scratch up the trees. Well, Good Luck, and keep an eye on those beautiful Bluebells!!!!!!!!

Those are about my favourite trees Traci - beech (Fagus sylvatica). This wood is mainly sweet chestnut coppice, but these beech trunks really stand out, so lovely and smooth.

The boar are about 20 miles away from me and unlikely to spread this far. They're farm escapes, but true wild boar according to their DNA. Some of French origin and some Polish.

Mmmmmm, yum, could just do with your menu suggestion! Sounds good to me!

Yeah, it does! Well, I hope that they do not get out too much! That'd be bad! Thanks for answering on the trees. They are beautiful, and I have not ever seen trees like those.

I'll try and take some more shots of beeches some time Traci. The green leafed one is lovely and there is also 'copper beech' with sultry dark leaves that glow, particularly with the light shining through them :)
