Dutchman's Breeches
Dicentra cucullaria
Named for the corn shaped nodules on the roots.
Dutchman's Breeches (Dicentra cucullaria)
I want this one to my rock garden =D
Wish I had one to send you! Very slow to get established. Though it might have set seed this year.
Hi naturepatch! It has come to our attention that this is most likely D. cuccularia: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/1102/index.html
Photos and descriptions of D. canadensis indicate the flower's shape is very much like D. eximia, but are white. What do you think?
Terry, I concur on the D cuccularia for naturepatch's photo. I've entered a couple of D. canadensis for consideration on the PF page
Thanks! The photo has been moved.
Thanks Joan!
