Radio fence/'Invisible' fence question

Is anyone using one of these? I understand that the wire can be run anywhere, it doesn't have to be buried. How well do they contain your dogs? Has anyone used the totally wireless, portable one? I am really wanting something to use inside the fence I already have, to keep a digger off the 'real' fence.
