About half of my Isabella seedlings have long narrow serrated leaves. The other half have fat more rounded leaves. Is the leaf shape any indication of what genetics are more dominant in the plant?
Need help with this.
Isabella leaves
As far as I can ascertain they were Isabella x frosty pink and Isabella x equador pink.
I think that explains it lol I have a "Betty Marshall x" from two different pods (different ? parents) and some have glabrous leaves and other strongly pubescent lol I admit, that this makes it all worth growing out crosses lol unknown parents + different leaf shapes and degree of pubescence lol that really makes one guess about the coming flowers lol When I started these crosses in November-February I thought, that there would be a looooooong time to bloom, but now I am getting hooked and like every step of growing from seeds lol It is all the detecting differences, there is to be done and all the guesswork in it lol
Tonny,
I'm also learning alot about the difference in growth patterns. I have crosses that grow very slowly with HUGE leaves and at every leaf sprout there is vegatiative growth. On the other hand some seedling grow very tall and have little secondary vegatative growth. The temperature here is still swinging like a pendulum, cold with a few mild days. I tried putting some plants outside on warm days, but by the end of the day the leaves looked pretty sad. This is the mildest winter we had in years and the coldest spring in ages.
