Well, I have taken this week and next week off to work on projects that have built up. Boy! is it easy to get distracted! I was cleaning (not even I can believe I was cleaning) yesterday when best friend called and said he was coming over to help us take our tractor in to have it fixed. Our old 8N hasn't worked for some time. If it needs too much fixin we will just sell it. Anyhoo, stopped cleaning and helped load this old tractor. Then when all was said and done, Hubby and I said let's go to St. Louis and visit our Grandson. We had started up there on Saturday when we started having car trouble. Decided before we would get stuck in the city we might as well get home and have our regular mechanic fix it. he is very affordable and will always try to save us money. of course we ran 30 miles each way to get the parts. Anyways, with new wheel baring or whatever you call it, off we go, but we didn't get started until about 3 o'clock. and we were going to surprise our daughter and Grandson. We hit the St. Louis rush hour traffic ( a nice reminder why I live where I do). While we were about 20 minutes away this daughter called on our cell phone to tell us play by play action of Grandson. She was lonesome , her hubby works a lot of evening shifts and she teaches Kindergarten in the day. Anyway, I couldn't keep the secret that we were coming to see them. She couldn't believe it. We had a wonderful if short visit. We hadn't seen our Grandson since Easter he has started walking and doing all sorts of cute things. His first word was "Ellie" his dog's name. He calls her and throws her the ball. She is a little Chihuahua.
I have let my little bottle calf run with the herd. She seems to do better. But, I couldn't find her right before we went to St. Louis yesterday to give her a bottle. I figured she would be one hungry girl today. Yep, at 5:30 this morning I heard a little cry from the fence. She had come up to the house on her own and wanted that bottle. She was hungry. I gave her two bottles this morning to catch her up. As soon as she gets her bottle she is off with the rest of the herd.
Kathleen, I wish I had known you were in Missouri! I might have been able to meet you somewhere.
Leaflady, I will talk to you sometime today.. I certainly hope you will be able to visit tomorrow. I know my iris are nothing compared to yours, but I am anxious for you to see them. You and Jack are always in my prayers.
Lisa, so glad you are back on line. I know moving is soo stressful. and moving animals is certainly an added stress.
Now I'm off to enjoy the day! May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You!
