She and dad are so proud of their little haven back there. She bought an artificial maiden fern and put pieces of it in the rocks around the falls; I think they look pretty neat there. The yellow plants are alyssum compacta, a perennial. She has parrot's feather, anachris and a water lily back in this pond, and she'll be putting a big peace lily in as a marginal as soon as things warm up.
They have a three-fixture underwater light in the bottom pond here, and she says it looks really cool with one of the lights shining up at the waterfall at night. :)

I love it and I think the fern idea is great!!! I bet the lights are gorgeous. I am gonna invest in a few soon!!!
Thanks, Traci S
Turned out lovely. I remember the posts of pics way in the beginning, sure turned out spendid.
This is just fab!!!! love that statue up top on the right! Can you take a photo of that sometime? I love what was done with the top section. I might have to use that idea. I have troble with mine. Like the way the landscaping timbers were used. Very nice. You need to enter that in a pond photo place. Let me find the ,link. hang on

Hey, that's a neat link, Mings. I'll check that out. :) I have a picture of that statue, yes - I'll post it momentarily for ya.
Thanks for the link Mingsmimi. I think I gotta run into town and get a new color ink cartridge now. I'm keeping a garden folder with ideas I might want to incorporate into my yard, and I see several ideas there I like.
mingsmimi :) thanks for the great website! I have had the pond "itch" for quite a while. And Joan ,you won't believe this but we are on the same wave link! I just started a note book for all the little tid-bits I want to remember. Have you thought of saving pics on a floppy? I've heard that will save a lot of ink. I have to watch what I print or I would be out all the time.Buying two cartridges is more than I can manage with all the other computer needs. I too am working out (in my head) a very small pond.would love to discuss more, now that we are messenger buddies :) Later!
tink - I have thought about saving the ideas on floppies, but I don't think I would take the time to sit down and go through all of them when I was looking to do something in the yard. It's nice to have it in a three ring binder so I can sit on the couch and look through it and dream whenever I want to. LOL! I know I won't be able to do the pond this year, but I'm hoping maybe next year. I'd love to chat with you on MSN if we can ever get online at the same time.
That's a good idea about the binder, Joan. I've seen where designers advise people to do that with pictures they see of interiors they like so they can develop a style around their likes. Good thinking about outside! :)
Thanks Kimberley. I like to be able to page through it Kimberley. Sometimes I'll pass over an idea, and later I'll look at it and see possibilities. I guess it depends a lot on my mood and the materials I have to work with.
