Asiatic Lilies

I just got a bunch of bulbs. They are HUGE. Like 7-8" Kinda the size of a small tangerine! Is there any way to get another bulb from them? A few of the scales had fallen off of them, so i just threw them in soil. Figure if they grow great!! IF not, at least i didn't lose an entire bulb.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You should be able to find some info online if you look up chipping or scaling. There are several methods for getting more. :) I have the info in a book somewhere if you don't find anything.
