What were you blessed with today???? I was blessed with a friend stopping by-birds singing in my trees=the view of a beautiful lake-raindrops=flowers and trees in bloom everywhere including the trailing arbutus on my bank=my pets including watching my litte black cat who was neutered today thinking he could fly while not being able to walk fom the anesthetic-by emails from a friend asking me to talk to another friend who is stressed to the max=a garden catalog= a hot ham and cheese and jalapeno sandwich-all little things that reminded me about the sacredness of the moment and simple things. I was blessed by that song also from Coplands Applachian Spring which is my all time favorite. How often we look for the big things in life--but once we learn we can only do little things we learn to appreciate little simple fragments of life and treasure them for the gifts they are. Shirley

I was blessed to awake refreshed after a wonderful, deep, long night's sleep last night. I was blessed with a challenging, fun, and encouraging chat with one of my best friends this morning. I was blessed to wander around my mother's garden and photograph the beautiful plants there, really seeing everything in detail. And I've been blessed with puppy kisses and kitty greetings. :)
My little chicks spent time flying up and sitting in my lap, my Grandchildren had good days at school, my daughters inspection at work went great, the sun shown and I made it throught the day in spite of the pain. It doesn't get any better than that.
I was blessed today to be with three of my children and their families and grandkids and greatgrands . I sat on my daughters porch by the river and watched the birds in their nest and listened to them sing their joy for the day and I saw my daughter and her husband working hard to break groud for a new log cabin in the hills of WVA to fufill a dream. I recieved plants and shrubs and new walking shoes for my bad legs. I went to the firehousw when the siren went off and realized there are still things i can do there and I laughed at Garrison Keillor on the radio. Life is good Blessings indeed anew every day Shirley
This is a wonderful thread. I kept a mental note all day of my blessings. (More hummers back than we had all last year, my baby chicks are the smartest in the world, the sun may not be shining, but the rain has stopped. etc.)

I was blessed with a good day in the gardens. I pulled weeds, planted mints, watered, pulled more weeds, admired my Louisiana iris, plotted a bit, and came inside to find that my power was off. So I cooled off just a tad, called the power company on my cell phone, went back outside and worked some more, came in to a dim house but the power came back on shortly. Got online, was chatting with Evert when the power went off again. Called again, learned it was a fuse and they were working on it. Went back outside, swatted several thousand mosquitoes, gave up and came in right before the power came back on. It was cloudy and windy enough, the house wasn't too uncomfortably hot, what a blessing! Showered, got back online and finished off some old coffee, happy to have the microwave to heat it. Last night, I wasn't able to sleep, and I feel blessed to be getting sleepy!
